I’m thinking about moving this party to Facebook. Or starting this party, rather. I threw a party and no one came.

Facebook, anyone?

Maybe… just maybe… this is the right thing to do.

Deaf Schools Teach September 10, 2008

I love Deaf Schools. I believe they provide the best and least restrictive learning environment for most deaf students. They provide a high quality education through direct classroom instruction, open and accessible communication, and opportunities for participation in curricular and extracurricular activities as well as important social learning situations. Why, then, are Deaf Schools struggling to stay open? What happened to “Least Restrictive Environment”?

This is where I’m coming from. What do you think?

This blog is for deaf school educators across the nation. This will be a place where we can discuss issues like language, teaching methods and current trends. This is a place we can be respectfully honest about what is going on in Deaf Schools right now, where we came from, and where we are going.

All honest and respectful comments are welcome! If you are a deaf school educator, please comment and I will send you an invitation to become a contributor. Just remember to be nice. Being unkind is not helpful, so unhelpful posts and comments will be deleted. All opinions are welcome here. We will not agree. That is the whole point.
